Clock in & clock out
Clocking in and out is the simplest interaction in Momentumpro — but the data feeds attendance reports, payroll, overtime calculations and compliance checks, so it pays to understand how it works.
Three ways to clock in
1. Web — from the Employee Portal
The fastest way for desk-based staff:
- Sign into your tenant.
- Click the Clock in / out quick action on the dashboard.
- The system records the timestamp, the work location (auto-detected from your IP), and any notes you add.
A green pill in the top bar shows you're clocked in. Click again to clock out.
2. Mobile app
For staff in the field:
- Open the Momentumpro app (iOS or Android).
- Tap Clock In.
- Approve the location prompt — required for geo-fenced sites.
The app works offline; punches sync when you have signal again.
3. Kiosk mode
For shared workstations (factory floor, school office):
- Set up Kiosk mode on a dedicated tablet — Admin → Kiosk Mode → New device.
- Staff tap their photo, enter their PIN, and tap In or Out.
Geo-fenced clock-in
If your work locations have geo-fences:
- Clock-in is only allowed within X metres of the location's address.
- The radius is configurable per location (default 100m).
- Failed attempts (out of fence) appear in a daily report for managers to review.
To enable: Admin → Work Locations → [Location] → Geo-fence settings.
Late, early, overtime
The system compares your punches against your shift schedule:
- Late — clocked in after the shift start. Threshold is configurable.
- Early out — clocked out before the shift end.
- Overtime — clocked in extra hours beyond the shift.
Each is flagged on the daily attendance record, and your manager sees a summary in the exception list.
Forgetting to clock out
If you forget to clock out, the system tries to:
- Auto-detect from your shift end and add a note "auto-closed".
- Surface the missing punch on your manager's exception list the next day.
You can submit a manual correction request from the Employee Portal — your manager approves it and the record is fixed.
