Overtime & exceptions
Overtime, late arrivals and missed punches are exceptions — they happen, and Momentumpro is built to help managers handle them quickly.
How exceptions are detected
Every day, the system compares each employee's punches to their schedule. It flags:
| Exception | What it means |
|---|---|
| Late in | Clocked in after shift start (with grace) |
| Early out | Clocked out before shift end |
| Missing punch | Clocked in but never clocked out (or vice versa) |
| No-show | No punch on a working day |
| Overtime | Worked beyond shift end |
| Outside fence | Clock-in was outside the geo-fence |
Each exception lands on the assigned manager's exception inbox.
Manager workflow
- Open Attendance → Exceptions in the sidebar.
- Filter by date or department.
- For each row:
- Approve as-is — accept the punches and apply any overtime.
- Correct — adjust the times manually.
- Reject — flag for follow-up with the employee.
Approved overtime feeds into the next payroll run automatically.
Configuring grace and thresholds
Admin → Attendance Settings lets you set:
- Late grace — minutes after shift start before "late" is flagged. Default: 5.
- Overtime threshold — minutes worked beyond shift end before overtime accrues. Default: 0.
- Overtime multipliers — pay rate for weekday OT, weekend OT, holiday OT.
These can be overridden per shift pattern for industries with different rules.
Self-corrections
Employees can submit a correction request from their portal:
- Open My timesheet → [Day] → Request correction.
- Enter the corrected times and a reason.
- Submit.
The request lands in their manager's approval queue. If approved, the attendance record is updated and a note logs the change.
Audit trail
Every adjustment is logged in the activity log: who changed what, when, and the original values. Useful for payroll disputes and compliance audits.
