Asset Control
Asset Control tracks every laptop, vehicle, badge, key and piece of equipment your organization owns. Each has an owner, a history, and (optionally) a QR label.
What's an "asset"?
Anything physical worth tracking individually:
- Laptops, monitors, phones
- Vehicles
- Access badges and keys
- Specialized equipment (lab kit, cameras)
- Furniture (high-value items)
For bulk consumables (paper, toner, screws), use Inventory instead — tracked by quantity, not individually.
Adding an asset
- Assets → New asset.
- Fill in:
- Name — e.g. "Dell XPS 15 — IT-001".
- Asset tag — your internal ID. Auto-generates if blank.
- Category — Laptop, Vehicle, Badge, etc.
- Serial number / VIN / model number.
- Purchase date and purchase price.
- Warranty expiry — for reminder alerts.
- Current location.
- Save.
Auto-creation from POs
When a PO is received and the line is for tracked items, tick Create asset records on the goods receipt — the system creates individual assets with the right serial numbers automatically.
QR labels
Print a QR sticker for any asset:
- Open the asset.
- Click Print QR label.
- Stick it on the device.
When anyone scans the QR (Momentumpro mobile app or any QR reader):
- They see the asset details.
- They can record a return, log maintenance, or report damage.
Maintenance
Schedule maintenance per asset:
- Recurring — e.g. annual servicing, quarterly cleaning.
- One-off — record a repair or refurbishment.
Maintenance reminders fire to the responsible team ahead of the due date.
